About Pezzeculiar

Sustainable Fashion with Purpose

A story that begins in Apulia!

Pezzeculiar brand owner Valentina Sardella

Pezzeculiar is more than just a fashion brand; it is a story rooted in Italian sartorial tradition and a passion for sustainability.

Founded by Valentina Sardella in Haiti in 2017, Pezzeculiar was born out of a love for sustainable fashion and a desire to make a difference in the world.

Since childhood, Valentina breathed in the art of sewing by watching her grandmother in Puglia. A seamstress who transformed every fabric into something precious, following the philosophy of “throw nothing away.”    This vision, although it may seem like a principle of sustainability today, at the time was just common sense and respect for resources.

Growing up, Valentina saw the fashion world change dramatically with the advent of fast fashion: cheap mass-production garments flooded the market, often at the expense of quality, work ethic, and the environment. The contrast between this new industry and the values of her childhood inspired Valentina to create something different.

This is how Pezzeculiar was born, a brand that combines traditional tailoring with a modern circular fashion philosophy. Using waste materials from other companies, Pezzeculiar gives new life to fabrics that would otherwise be wasted. Each garment is unique, made with handcrafted care, reflecting a love of detail and respect for resources.

However Pezzeculiar’s story does not stop there. Her personal journey brought Valentina in several countries from Haiti to west and South Africa, Valentina saw directly the social and environmental challenges and decided that fashion and beauty can also be an instrument of development and cooperation. In her tailoring workshops, she provides employment opportunities for single mothers and people in economic hardship, creating a positive social impact and turning fashion into a tool for empowerment.
